With a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the Steelers selected reigning national-champion Ohio State quarterback Will Howard — adding him to a depth chart featuring veteran backups Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson.

Pittsburgh Steelers rookie quarterback Will Howard has a mentor in Aaron Rodgers. In just three days, Rodgers helped correct Howard’s footwork and is giving him more pointers. Howard, who was three when Rodgers was selected in the 2005 NFL Draft, grew up watching the four-time MVP play with the Green Bay Packers.
