The National Weather Service has confirmed two tornados touched down in Wharton County in Thursday’s early morning storms.

The tornadoes arose from the severe storms that had been rolling across Southeast Texas since before dawn Thursday. No one was reported injured.

The stretch of Tuckerton Road between Washington Turnpike and Carranza Road is closed, as is Bulldozer Road and multiple local forest paths. Part of the Batona Trail, which winds through the Pine Barrens, is also closed. Hikers can't access the path between Carranza and Bulldozer roads.

WHARTON COUNTY, Texas - Two tornadoes have been confirmed to have touched down in Wharton County early Thursday morning. The first tornado reportedly touched down at 3:05 a.m. in northeastern Wharton County. The tornado was confirmed as an EF-1 tornado, with winds reaching 100mph.

According to the New Jersey Department of Transportation, all lanes on I-80 were expected to open by 9 a.m., which would be 11 days ahead of schedule.

"We’re doing our best to stay strong for our children, but the financial strain of repairs, temporary housing, and lost income has been overwhelming," she wrote.
