Pope Francis, 88, died Monday morning at the Vatican. Cardinal Camerlengo Kevin Joseph Farrell was seen sealing the door to the papal bedroom and studio at the Vatican shortly after the announcement of the pontiff's death. The pope's last public appearance was on Easter Sunday at St. Peter's Square.

Whoopi Goldberg fell over in laughter when fellow comedian Bowen Yang floated the notion that Vice President JD Vance was involved in what one might call Pope Francis’ final benediction. Pope Francis died Monday at age 88.

Bowen Yang, a cast member on "Saturday Night Live" said Thursday that he thought there would be a better person to play JD Vance on SNL, and joked, "the guy's a pope killer."

"The View" was on the verge of another full Goldberg collapse at the Hot Topics table, after Yang's quip took the Oscar-winning actress out.
