Both directions of Highway 99 are closed south of Yuba City due to a crash involving at least two vehicles, authorities say.

The crash was on Gilly Williams Road at Obanion Road in Rapides Parish. Troopers responded to the scene at around 3:20 p.m. and discovered that Brandon Whatley, 27, had died in the crash.
