Hawaii’s Mount Kilauea is erupting yet again, this time in its 30th episode, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Hawaiian Volcano Observatory scientists say vigorous lava fountaining began early today at Kilauea’s summit, marking the 30th eruptive episode in the current Halemaumau eruption.

Kilauea's 30th eruption episode is now underway, with lava fountains soaring up to 70 feet high from both the north and south vents in Halemaʻumaʻu crater.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the eruption started early Wednesday morning, sending 150 to 300 foot high fountains of lava from the north vent of the volcano's Halema'uma'u crater.
