The world of the Na'vi might be expanding, per director James Cameron, who opened up about his plans to take the franchise to animated territory.

Each Avatar movie so far has introduced a new Na'vi clan. Avatar featured the forest-dwelling Omatikaya clan, while Avatar: The Way of Water introduced the Metkayina clan, who make their home around Pandora's reefs. These clans became allies to Jake and Neytiri, but that will not be the case with Avatar: Fire and Ash 's Mangkwan clan.
