Indy 500 will have some competition, thanks to Formula 1’s reorganization of its calendar for next year. Today, Formula 1 announced its 2026 schedule, and many IndyCar fans quickly pointed out a major conflict: the Montreal Grand Prix and the Indy 500 are on the same day.

Formula 1 calendar has been confirmed, that sees a more direct clash with the Indianapolis 500 despite a change of date for the Monaco Grand Prix.

Canada’s round slated for May 24 brings the Grand Prix, which usually starts at 2 p.m. ET—into a direct clash with the Indy 500. Typically, Monaco’s Grand Prix has had a date clash with the Indy 500 but vastly different time zones has meant the two races do not run at the same time.
