Disney oversaw the 10-month process, during which the cult-classic musical starring Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon was restored and remastered ahead of planned theatrical events and a Blu-ray release.

Since then, the movie has become famous for its midnight showings and audience participation. The remastered and restored version will include a new “Rocky Horror” logo, its iconic red lips now featuring a gold top hat inscribed with “50” in red ink.

A new 4K Ultra HD restoration of The Rocky Horror Picture Show has been struck and will be released in theatres across the U.S. to mark the film's 50th anniversary. The cult classic has been restored over 10 months by the Walt Disney Studios Restoration team.
