Police in Atlanta say the suspect is dead after a shooting near Emory University and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention headquarters.

The officer who was injured in the shooting on Emory University's campus in Atlanta is dead, Interim Chief Greg Padrick of DeKalb County Police Department said. He died of his injuries from a gunshot wound, Padrick said.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has identified a man who died in Friday afternoon’s shooting at Emory University.
