The man suspected in the shooting deaths of a Minnesota lawmaker and her husband has ties to North Texas. NBC 5 learned that 57-year-old Vance Boelter attended Christ For The Nations Institute in Dallas in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Following a massive manhunt,Vance Boelter has now been arrested, after being found in a field near Green Isle in Sibley County.

Minnesota state Sen. John Hoffman lived in West Des Moines for nearly a decade and is credited with forming an active Democratic Party there.

Vance Boelter, named in multiple news reports as the accused shooter of Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses, wrote on social media that he was the CEO of a company called "Red Lion Group."
