International organizations have said the Palestinian enclave has been on the brink of famine for the past two years.

Special envoy Steve Witkoff and U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee visited food distribution sites in Gaza on Friday, as the United States seeks to establish a plan to get more humanitarian aid into the war-torn enclave.

The visit follows Witkoff's arrival in Israel on Thursday and meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as ceasefire negotiations with Hamas have stalled.
