(Reuters) -Indian food and grocery delivery platform Zomato said on Thursday it will rename the company to "Eternal" and unveiled a new logo, a move that comes more than two years after it began using the new name internally.

Zomato's parent company has been rebranded to Eternal Ltd, sparking online discussion and speculation about the future of its services. CEO Deepinder Goyal explained the rebranding differentiates the parent organization from its individual brands like Zomato and Blinkit,

The Zomato app and brand name will remain unchanged. Blinkit grew materially larger than Zomato’s food delivery business in the past year. A number of analysts estimate that Blinkit will grow to account for as much as 70% of the group’s value in the coming year.

The board of directors at Indian online food delivery company Zomato has approved renaming the company as Eternal. The move was disclosed by the company in a recent Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) filing with the stock exchange.

"When we acquired Blinkit, we started using 'Eternal' internally to distinguish the company from the brand/app. Today, with Blinkit, we feel that something beyond Zomato is driving our future," Goyal said.
