Before Selena Gomez landed the lead role on Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place,” she filmed pilots for spinoffs of two of the network’s most popular shows: “Lizzie McGuire” and “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.

A sequel to the show — Wizards Beyond Waverly Place — headed to Disney Channel this year and was co-produced by the original stars Gomez and David Henrie. Henrie stars in the show as the adult version of his character, Justin Russo, with new cast members Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele and Mimi Gianopulos. Gomez guest-starred.
