Suspect's vehicle found in Sibley County as search intensifies for Vance Luther Boelter, wanted in connection with fatal shooting of Minnesota lawmakers in targeted attack.
Investigators found a cowboy hat near the vehicle and were working to determine whether it belongs to Boelter.
Boelter claimed to have a doctorate of education, and said he spent extensive time in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa — where he was seen in videos apparently preaching on stage.
Maple Grove Police Department on Sunday issued a shelter-in-place for residents, without giving specifics. This comes as authorities are rampantly searching for Vance Boelter, who shot two Minnesota lawmakers, killing one. At a press conference earlier in the day, authorities confirmed that the suspect is not in custody and is believed to be alive.
