Like it did for prestigious private universities, the administration has cut off federal grants for UCLA, alleging it failed to address antisemitism. The UC system must tell the DOJ by today whether it wants to negotiate.

President Donald Trump’s administration has suspended more than $200 million in research grants to UCLA, citing antisemitism and bias as the reasons. The suspended grants are primarily through the National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health,

The Justice Department issued UCLA a notice of violation for not responding “adequately” to complaints about antisemitism.
