Signing Bregman was a huge win for the Red Sox, as the star third baseman agreed to a three-year, $120 million deal in February. But that deal included an opt-out after each of the first two seasons, and after making his third American League All-Star team this year, Bregman seems likely to re-enter free agency.

Bowden linking the Tigers to Bregman as a free agent destination isn't surprising, as when trade rumors were flying around in June regarding Bregman, Detroit was one of the top teams that could land the superstar third baseman.

The Boston Red Sox signed Alex Bregman last offseason. The decision has paid off, but they may have to bid for his services again this winter.
