Devers fit the bill of what San Francisco had been looking for. He had produced a .272/.401/.504 batting line in 334 plate appearances with the Red Sox in 2025, hitting 15 homers and 18 doubles.

Two months after he angrily refused to play first base for the Boston Red Sox, Rafael Devers was on the diamond in Atlanta sporting a first base glove for the San Francisco Giants.

Devers has struggled since the move to the West Coast, batting .219 with two homers and 10 RBIs in 29 games for the Giants, all at DH. He batted .272 with 15 homers and 58 RBIs in 73 games for Boston.
