The only thing that stood between the Guardians being no-hit by left-hander Tarik Skubal on Sunday were hits by Will Wilson and José Ramírez. It was Wilson who broke Skubal’s spell with a leadoff double in the sixth after 15 Guardians had been put down in order.
On Saturday, Cleveland won its fifth straight game against the Tigers between regular season and postseason play. Amazingly, the Guardians' 7–5 10-inning victory tied the all-time series at 1,161 games apiece. Sunday is the rubber match, and as all baseball fans know, the six best words in sports are Game Two Thousand Three Hundred Thirty-Five.
Spencer Torkelson homered, but that was all the offense for the Tigers in a 3-1 loss to the Cleveland Guardians.
