Africa is adjusting to the new reality of US President Donald Trump’s tariffs, with countries on the continent facing some of the highest export charges.

President Trump’s executive order carved out a special tariff on goods shipped indirectly to the United States by way of other countries.

In February, Trump reignited trade tensions by announcing a 25% tariff on imports from major allies like Canada and Mexico, alongside a 10% tariff on goods from China. The measures set off a chain of retaliatory responses and fierce negotiations.
