Santa Ana winds are blowing through California, and parts of the state are at an increased risk of wildfires because of drought.

The shift in weather patterns is expected to bring temperatures into the lower 90s in some areas, with widespread 80s even along the coast.

Santa Ana winds are returning to San Diego County Wednesday evening, surging temperatures and prompting a wind advisory for much of the region.

Looking ahead to the weekend, temperatures will jump more than 10 degrees above normal. Sunday will be the warmest day, with highs in the mid 80s across Southern California. There is a chance that the warming will continue into next week, where Coachella Valley could reach up to 90 degrees.

Shifting weather patterns will produce a taste of summer, along with stiff Santa Ana winds, followed by a cooling trend and the possibility of rain in County, according to the National Weather Service.
