(ABC 6 News) — The Trump administration is continuing its federal takeover of the Washington D.C. Police Force. Attorney General Pam Bondi appointed DEA head Terry Cole as the new emergency police commissioner. The D.C. Attorney General fired back with a lawsuit, arguing the administration is carrying out a “hostile takeover.”
Under the accord presented by the two sides to U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes, Trump administration lawyers conceded that D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser's appointed police chief, Pamela Smith, would remain in command of the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police Department.
