With Purdue's win over Iowa and Michigan State's loss to UCLA, the Boilermakers are now sitting atop the Big Ten standings alone.

The Boilermakers kept Iowa at arm’s distance but it took them a while to entirely put the Hawkeyes away. Iowa showed some good fight, making it a one-possession game with 2:42 to go. The Hawkeyes had two 3-point attempts that would've tied the game, but neither went down.

Braden Smith dropped 31 points on the road and Trey Kaufman-Renn added late heroics after early foul trouble as the Boilermakers improved to 18-5.
