Dan Wilson, who oversaw projects at BBL Construction, died in a Wednesday crash that left two others injured, the victim's son said.

Wilson's death was announced by Montgomery County, New York, Executive Pete Vroman, who described Wilson as "smart and patient" and "humble" in an online post that also mentioned Wilson's long career as a civil engineer.

Three people were hospitalized Wednesday after being injured in a small plane accident on Block Island, officials said. Just before 12:30 p.m., a Piper Cherokee aircraft “was involved in an accident at Block Island State Airport,” according to the Rhode Island Airport Corporation, which operates the airport.
