North Carolina has joined about two dozen states in a lawsuit over the freezing of billions of dollars in federal funding for public schools.

North Carolina AG Jeff Jackson, with attorneys general from 24 states, sued the federal government over the withholding of $6.8 billion in educational funds, risking $165 million and nearly 1,000 teaching jobs in NC.

Twenty-Five states, including North Carolina, are suing the Secretary of Education, Director of the Office of Management and Budget and President Donald Trump.
