The summer transfer window has reached a crucial stage, with Premier League contenders Arsenal and Liverpool leading the charge in the market as the new season approaches
Liverpool have reached an agreement over a five-year contract with Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, Sky Sports Switzerland claims. A bid of £100 million ($134.4 million) will be submitted and the Reds hope to reach a deal at around £120 million ($161.3 million).

Their rivals have only been able to watch on as another transfer domino falls, with Luis Diaz agreeing a £65.4m move to Bayern to help facilitate a push for Isak. Arsenal have landed a striker of their own in Viktor Gyokeres, while Chelsea have brought in Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.
Isak has revealed his desire to leave St James’ Park this summer and pursue a new chapter, with Liverpool reportedly his preferred destination. In an ideal world, the Reds would be able to sign the 25-year-old striker, who will cost around £120–150 million ($161.2–201.5 million). Whether a deal can be done remains to be seen.
Two months on, that farewell has been confirmed with Diaz set to complete a €75 million (£65.6m; $88.1m) move to Bayern Munich. It brings the curtain down on a three-and-a-half-year Anfield career which yielded 41 goals in 148 appearances.
An update has emerged on Federico Chiesa's future at Liverpool amid continued speculation that he could leave the club. Liverpool signed Chiesa from Juventus last summer after paying an initial £10million fee with add-ons potentially taking the total package for the transfer up to £12.5million.
