The ROG Xbox Ally and the ROG Xbox Ally X are official and are coming this holiday season. Announced at Sunday’s Xbox Games Showcase 2025, this handheld device promises the “freedom of Windows” and the “power of Xbox,” and you’ll be able to stream titles directly from the cloud as well as download select games for offline play.
This isn’t quite what we expected to see last year, but the ROG Xbox Ally still marks a new chapter in the rapidly developing “handheld war.”
Microsoft just concluded this year’s not-E3 festivities with a surprisingly great showcase that made up for all of the grim vibes and unfortunate shortcomings of Friday’s Summer Game Fest Live presentation.
