The social media platform X will pay President Trump $10 million to settle a lawsuit over the suspension of his account in the wake of the Jan. 6 Capitol attack.

X has reached a settlement with President Donald Trump in a lawsuit over the president’s 2021 suspension from Twitter. The Wall Street Journal reports that the Elon Musk-owned company has agreed to pay “about $10 million” to settle the long-running case.

As well as the rebrand, Musk scrapped the previous verification process for Twitter. While having the signature blue tick on your Twitter profile was previously reserved for celebrities and influencers of a certain following, the site's new owner introduced a subscription fee to acquire verification.
