Celtics minority governor Steve Pagliuca has agreed to a deal to purchase the Connecticut Sun from the Mohegan Tribe and plans to move the franchise to Boston by 2027, The Boston Globe ‘s Gary Washburn reported Saturday.

The league still must approve the sale, which will be for a record $325 million, and declared Saturday nine other cities which sought WNBA expansion franchises "have priority over Boston."

The Celtics' minority owner has agreed to purchase the WNBA's Connecticut Sun and will move them to Boston for the 2027 season.
