At some point, the Washington Commanders ’ defense was going to get the best of the offense in training camp. That came on Friday, Day 3. Quarterback Jayden Daniels didn’t have his best day, which is rare. Daniels was picked off multiple times. Even backup quarterback Marcus Mariota didn’t have his best day.
In training camp, when there are no fans and no stats and the scoreboard is only used for keeping time, one of the best ways to determine how practice is going is by listening to and watching the sidelines.
Day three brought the heat, figuratively and literally. A blistering hot morning pushed practice back an hour. The Commanders, however, still showed out.
