Attacker armed with knife near UVA's campus has been arrested, police say
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — A man is in police custody after a stabbing near the University of Virginia's campus on Thursday evening. A statement from the university said the stabbing happened around 4:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Emmett Street. One victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment and is currently in critical condition.
Students at the University of Virginia were told to shelter in place and "RUN HIDE FIGHT" after an "active attacker" was said to be near campus. The suspect was later detained.
