A flood watch is in effect for Parker, Tarrant, Dallas, Collin, Rockwall, Ellis, Montague, Cooke, Grayson, Fannin, Lamar, Young, Jack, Wise, Denton, Collin, Hunt, Delta and Hopkins counties through Thursday morning.

On Wednesday at 12:33 p.m. a flash flood warning was released by the NWS Fort Worth TX in effect until 3:45 p.m. The warning is for Hood, Johnson and Somervell counties.

The rain tapers off early overnight into Thursday, where there will be a brief break with some sunshine, and highs in the mid-80s.

Severe storms are still underway on Tuesday morning in northern Texas and Oklahoma as golf ball-sized hail has already been reported early Tuesday in Oklahoma amid numerous severe thunderstorm warnings. Meanwhile, a severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for northern Oklahoma and southern Kansas until 10 a.m. CT.

A First Alert Weather Day is in effect on Wednesday in North Texas. A flood watch is in effect for Montague, Cooke, Grayson, Fannin, Lamar, Young, Jack, Wise, Denton, Collin, Hunt, Delta and Hopkins counties through Thursday morning.

It’s the end of April, early May, which means it’s time to stay weather aware. There will be several chances of strong to severe storms in the forecast over the next 48 hours across North Texas.
