Dallas-Fort Worth will be sunny but chilly Monday before an arctic cold front prompts an extreme weather watch.

"Make sure all your outside faucets are covered. You can buy the Styrofoam covers. Everybody has seen them. You can put them on outside to make sure that helps. If you don't have that available, wrap some blankets and tape them on," Crowson said.

A bout of wet weather on Tuesday, with the potential for thunderstorms, will set the stage for a drastically cold week with a hard freeze on its way to Houston and beyond. Eric Berger, a meteorologist with Space City Weather,
