Thousands of people gathered in Copley Square in Boston on Saturday for the Pride parade while "No Kings" protesters lined the streets to peacefully demonstrate.

GRANBY — Police estimated 200 to 250 people brought their home-made signs and voices to a “No Kings” protest here Saturday. It was one of more than 100 in Massachusetts and one of more than 2,000 across all 50 states.

In the Greater Boston area, thousands of “No Kings” marches and rallies are taking place, part of major demonstrations planned across the country.

Boston's Pride parade, set to step off at 11 a.m. in Copley Square, will coincide with the “No Kings” demonstration, converging the two causes as marchers cross downtown.

Protests are planned in Massachusetts and across the U.S in opposition to President Donald Trump, coinciding with his birthday and a military parade in the nation’s capital.
