Chase Briscoe is on the pole for the Iowa Corn 350 NASCAR Cup Series race on August 3 at Iowa Speedway. Briscoe's lap of 23.004 seconds was less than a tenth of a second better than William Byron in Saturday's qualifying session.

Last year, NASCAR announced that it would hold a Cup Series race at Iowa Speedway after the sanctioning body decided to remodel Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California, and needed a track to fill a hole in the schedule. Since then, Iowa Speedway has become one of NASCAR's favorite tracks.
