NEW YORK — Mets catcher Luis Torrens lay face down over home plate after Chicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Tucker fouled a pitch off his nether region. For what seemed like an eternity, Torrens lay motionless with Mets manager Carlos Mendoza and a trainer kneeling by his side. After a few minutes, Torrens finally rose to his knees, but in agony.

Torrens remained down for several moments after being struck by a foul ball off the bat of slugger Kyle Tucker. After talking with trainers and trying to battle through it, Torrens walked off and was taken out of the ballgame.
