The 151st running of the Kentucky Derby is upon us and we're one step closer to the race after the post position draw was announced Saturday.

The 2025 Kentucky Derby will pit 3-year-old horses against one another on a 1 1/4-mile track. The favorite to claim the first leg is Journalism, who has won four straight starts and is 3-1 according to the latest 2025 Kentucky Derby odds.

Journalism enters this year's race as the favorite, thanks in part to a four-race win streak, including an April 5 victory in the Santa Anita Derby, a come-from-behind victory that saw him make the necessary adjustments to secure the momentum-sustaining win.
