The strawberry moon reached its peak on Wednesday, June 11, at 3:44 a.m. ET, NASA said. June's full moon is happening in Sagittarius, the sign which is a mix of "passion, curiosity, intensity, and adaptability," according to Allure.

This morning’s Strawberry Moon was especially low because we are currently sitting in something called a Major Lunar Standstill. This is a cycle of about 18 years that occurs with the moon’s orbit, and we are in the part of the cycle that causes the moon to cut a very low arc over the horizon.
