The already volatile Middle East has plunged into a new and dangerous phase of conflict as Israel and Iran openly traded blows over the past two days
Tensions escalated in the Middle East after Israel launched 'Operation Rising Lion' targeting Iran's nuclear sites on Friday. Israel launched strikes on several cities in Iran, including Tehran, Tabriz and Shiraz.
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Israel’s defense minister warned Saturday that “Tehran will burn” if Iran continues firing missiles, as the two countries traded blows a day after Israel launched a blistering surprise attack on Iranian nuclear and military sites, killing several top generals.
Israel stated that residential buildings had been hit during the Iranian strikes, with rescue and fire services stating that 14 people had been injured.
Jenner will also likely face challenges leaving Israel due to the shutdown of Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion airport and suspension of flights to and from Israel. After Jenner’s initial arrival in Israel on Wednesday, she addressed a press conference arranged by the Pride Parade organizers.
The strikes are a sign of Israel’s shift away from restraint, containment and short wars, and toward using force to project power across the Middle East.
