Jacob Clarke, 31, was arrested and charged after a family member told police he threatened to shoot kids at a Groton school, police said.

Groton schools have ramped up security measures following last week’s arrest of a man who police say threatened to shoot kids at a local school.

Groton police said that the 17-year-old had been driving with an elevated blood alcohol level and had been going above the speed limit.

Groton police say two suspects were charged after one allegedly made comments threatening violence against a local elementary school. Jacob Clarke, 31, of Groton, was charged with first-degree threatening/hazard to terrorize and second-degree beach of peace.
