The European Union and the U.K. have reached an agreement to ease cross-border trade and travel in Gibraltar after years of post-Brexit wrangling over the contested territory, EU Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič said Wednesday.

Gibraltar and Britain are understood to have agreed a deal to hand control of the border to Europe following drawn-out negotiations.

The Foreign Secretary told MPs to ‘ignore the fake news’, that Gibraltar joining Schengen ‘was never on the table’.
