Boston recorded its first official heat wave of 2025 and hit 101 degrees today, as extreme weather set new temperature records in the city.It wasn't just a record-setting day, it was a record-smashing day.

The thermometer at Boston Logan International Airport showed 100 degrees as of 2 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service’s Boston office. The 100-degree reading ties the record for the hottest ever June temp in city history. It also hit 100 degrees in June 2021, 1952, and 1925.

Just a few degrees away from breaking the all-time record of 104 set in 1911, the heat pushed residents to flee their sweltering apartments, many of which don’t have air conditioning.
