The FBI confirmed it is investigating a death that occurred on board the Carnival Dream during its most recent sailing.

Many think their own kid would never become a sextortion victim but they absolutely can, says Connor Hagan, a public affairs officer with the FBI's Houston field office.

If they look too good to be true, they probably are. 12News spoke with Connor Hagan who works for the FBI. He says older adults are usually the targets of these scams.

That’s just under 40-thousand loss per victim. And it gets worse when you get into specifics,” Hagan said. He says they are seeing a huge increase in investment scams.

Some of FBI Houston's agents, investigators and task force officers were those who responded to the mass shooting at Santa Fe High School in 2018, Hagan said.
