Representatives agreed to keep talking along the lines of the agreement reached in Geneva last month to temporarily lower tariffs.

The deal removes Chinese export restrictions on rare earths minerals and allows Chinese students access to U.S. universities.

Chinese state media say that the U.S. and China have agreed in principle on a framework to resolve their trade disputes.
