An 18-year-old man was seriously hurt Tuesday afternoon in a shooting near a school on Chicago's Northwest Side. The shooting happened at 3:50 p.m. in the 6000 block of North Stevens Avenue. Stevens Avenue is a short and narrow diagonal street that runs between Pulaski Road and Keystone Avenue just north of Peterson Avenue.

An East Chicago man faces up to 20 years for separate shootings that wounded his ex-wife and her brother. Andres Perez, 46, admitted to two counts of aggravated battery. A sentencing hearing is not yet scheduled.
