The Chicago Cubs have sprung to life in 2025, and now the second-place Brewers are chasing them in the standings, including head-to-head this week.

Since a ragged 21-25 start, the Brewers have gone 18-9 to remain relatively in range of the first-place Cubs, who lead them by 5½ games.

The Brewers got a two-out runner in scoring position in the top of the first when William Contreras doubled into the left field corner, but Cubs starter Ben Brown was able to strike out Christian Yelich to end the inning.
