The Mets have decided to send Brett Baty down to Triple-A Syracuse with Jeff McNeil being activated on the roster.

That's why the Mets activated McNeil off the 10-day IL on Wednesday and optioned Baty to the minors, via SNY's Ben Krimmel. Fans on social media aren't pleased with the timing or the player selection, as outfielder José Azocar maintained his spot over Baty despite having just seven at-bats this season.

Mets are making the most logical move in optioning the infielder back to Triple-A Syracuse, The Post confirmed Thursday, with Jeff McNeil set to join the roster beginning Friday in Washington.
