BLOCK ISLAND, R.I. (WJAR) — One person was killed and two others were injured when a small plane crashed Wednesday afternoon at Block Island State Airport. "At approximately 12:29 PM, a Cherokee Archer aircraft was involved in an accident at Block Island State Airport," a spokesman said. "There were three individuals on board at the time."

One of three people aboard a small airplane that crashed on Block Island on Wednesday, July 30, did not survive the crash, according to Block Island Fire Chief Chris Hobe. Two people were seriously injured and airlifted off the island for medical care, Hobe said.
