The U.S. Open’s largest court was packed for the final three matches of the reimagined mixed doubles tournament Wednesday night, which was made up of mainly top singles players for the first time.
U.S. Open tournament director Stacey Allaster told NJ Advance Media that the tournament will “evaluate the reimagined mixed, gather player feedback and then make decisions” for 2026. But McEnroe and his ESPN colleague Mary Joe Fernandez believe it was a huge success that will be replicated in New York and at other majors.
