President Donald Trump outraged many of his supporters after the Justice Department published an unsigned memo saying it would not release any more documents related to deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. For years, Trump and some members of his administration fanned conspiracy theories about the content of the files.

Trump urged his supporters over the weekend to stop talking about Epstein as some expressed anger over his administration’s failure to release more information about its probe into the convicted sex offender.

House Speaker Mike Johnson told right-wing podcaster Benny Johnson that he supported the release of the Epstein files,

The rift within the Republican Party over the release of documents related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein continued to widen, with top congressional allies of President Donald Trump — including House Speaker Mike Johnson — calling for his administration to exercise greater transparency.
